CIRCA 1994
THIS ONE HITS HOME... I didn’t know who Peter Moore was when I was a kid. I just knew I loved the posters he designed. I couldn’t afford the shoes, but I owned every football & basketball poster he ever made — including my favorite, the ICEMAN. Sports, music, & imagination, were my whole world. My family lived it, breathed it daily. Years later, in 1994, I saw a graphic design job at adidas in the newspaper. I’d already learned a tough lesson from earlier interviews: know your audience. After meeting Peter, he told me: “Your design skills are rough, and you’re a little green… but you understand this consumer.” That moment taught me the power of love languages — how loving the culture gives you a voice within it. That truth became one of my three pillars of creativity. I started on April 1st, 1994. April Fools’ Day. I remember wondering if the universe was joking with me. Now, 31 years later… what a journey it’s been.
